Julian Oelhaf holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Computer Science from Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. He joined the Pattern Recognition Lab as a PhD student in June 2024 under the supervision of Dr.-Ing. Siming Bayer and Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Andreas Maier. His research focus is on the joint research project “Coordinated Power Network Protection Based on Machine Learning Techniques,” in collaboration with the Chair of Electrical Energy Systems (EES) led by Professor Johann Jäger. The objective of this project is to revolutionize network protection in electrical supply networks through the application of machine learning and neural networks to automate and enhance fault detection, localization, and coordinated fault clearing.
