New PhD student

Aleksandra Thamm received her Master’s degree in Electronic and Mechatronic Systems and specialized her study in Automation Technology at Technische Hochschule in Nuremberg. She joined the Pattern Recognition Lab in August 2020 as a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Maier. Her Ph.D. research project is focused on the wear prediction of machine tools in milling processes with the use of deep learning methods. This research will be carried out in cooperation with Siemens AG in Erlangen.
