Member of Pattern Recognition Lab on the List of Nominees for the AI Person of the Year

Nora Gourmelon, a PhD student at the Pattern Recognition Lab, is featured on the List of Nominees for the AI Person of the Year Award, which is granted by t3n. The other nominees include Tina Klüwer, Head of Research for Technological Sovereignty and Innovation at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Jonas Andrulis, founder and CEO of Aleph Alpha, and twelve other talented individuals.
Nora is nominated for her research on the classification of water end-use categories, the automatic detection of seabirds in video-based population surveys, and the Deep Learning-based localization of glacier fronts in satellite imagery.
