We are proud to announce that Maximilian Rohleder, a PhD student at the PRL, was awarded the IFI Doctoral stipend by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This generous stipend supports young researchers by covering international research expeditions in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science for up to 6 months.

Maximilian is visiting the I-Star Lab at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA for the summer of 2022. In a collaboration between I-Star, the PRL and the industry partner Siemens Healthineers he is investigating methods to improve imaging workflows in the surgical suite. More specifically, the avoidance of metal artefacts during Cone-Beam CT acquisition will be investigated, building on previous work by the researchers at Johns Hopkins.
