New PhD Student: Joshua Scheuplein

Joshua Scheuplein received his Master’s degree in Advanced Signal Processing and Communications Engineering from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in January 2025. Previously, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

In March 2025, he joined the Pattern Recognition Lab as a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Andreas Maier. His research, conducted in cooperation with Siemens Healthineers in Forchheim, focuses on the development of novel methods for the prediction and avoidance of expected metal artifacts in intraoperative cone-beam CT images.
