New PhD student
Merlin Nau received his Master’s degree in Medical Engineering from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. He wrote his master thesis under the joint supervision of Prof. Andreas Maier and Prof. Oliver Cossairt at the Computational Photography Lab at Northwestern University. Merlin Nau joined the Pattern Recognition Lab in June 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Maier. His research project is in collaboration with Siemens Healthineers Molecular Imaging, USA and UK Erlangen. The focus of his project lies in radiomics and noise characteristics for multi-modal SPECT imaging. In addition, his research interests lie in the applications of deep learning and quantum computing techniques to imaging.
