New PhD student
Paula Andrea Pérez-Toro received her M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Antioquia (UdeA) in Colombia. She has performed research activities related to gait, speech, and natural language analysis for healthcare and customer satisfaction. She joined the Pattern Recognition Lab in April 2021 as a Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Prof. Elmar Nöth. Her research project focuses on time series analysis using machine learning methods for the detection and location of high-impedance earth faults in sub-transmission grids (in cooperation with Siemens), and the assessment of genetic Alzheimer’s disease (in cooperation with UdeA).
