New PhD student
Leonhard Rist received his Master’s degree in Medical Engineering, with specialization on Medical Imaging and Data Processing, from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg. He joined the Pattern Recognition Lab in February 2021 as a Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Maier. His Ph.D. research project focuses on machine learning approaches for the analysis of brain vasculature and parenchyma mainly based on Computed Tomography Angiography scans. This research will be carried out in cooperation with Siemens Healthineers AG in Forchheim. His research interests lie in the utilization of Deep Learning techniques for stroke assessment.
